My blog is changing!
I wanted to share the journey and emotional roller coaster of dealing with infertility. My husband and I have been married for 12 years. 5 years ago we decided it is time for a baby but it seemed that God may have other plans for us. It took 4 years for a Dr to finally take our case seriously and start the testing process. We both actually hoped they would find something wrong so we could fix it! The sad part is that every single test came back normal and they told me that my weight is causing the issue. I have a thyroid disorder and struggle with emotional eating. These two make weight a struggle for me.
Over the past 5 years I have had some extreme periods. There were ones that arrived 10 days late and the hospital said were implants that just did not stay where they were suppose to. Infertility is a touchy subject for most and if you start to discuss it people will quickly move away. I am an extremely open person and when someone tells oh it must be so nice not to worry about travelling with children , my answer will be I wish I knew how nice it is to travel with children. I get upset when I see people act like they do not appreciate that which was given to them by God, A child the greatest gift! I know they probably do appreciate this and sometimes you can lose your tempers in public but remember that there are many of us who wish we could have a precious little one but we can not.
My journey started with learning numbers like CD(Cycle Day), FSH (hormone tests), OPK(Ovulation prediction Kits) and may more! You will be amazed at how many medical terms you can learn once you have something called unexplained infertility. My husband and I finally moved forward and had an appointment with a specialist. We both felt this specialist was a waste of time and money as all he did was suggest IVF and tell us where he thinks we should go. I did a ton of research and decided that we will go with a clinic in Cambridge.
I have the first intro to IVF with them on the 22nd of February and that is where we will schedule the first initial appointment and find out what tests they require as well as costs.
I will continue to post throughout this journey :)
Stay Happy and Lots of Lucky Sticky Baby Dust to all !
